How to Apply
Each student accepted for admission to Kolob Canyon needs to be clinically and academically approved. Our Admission Director will also ask for information such as testing and background information so that we can better understand the needs of your student. Because Kolob Canyon is intentionally kept small (12-16 beds), please be aware that sometimes parents will have a short wait prior to a bed becoming available. Our Admissions Director can also assist you in setting up a tour of Kolob prior to making a decision about admission. Some parents find touring helpful because it allows them to meet members of the treatment team and see the campus.
For parents interested in talking with other parents who have gone through the treatment process at Kolob Canyon, we are also pleased to provide contact information for parent-references. If you have other questions or concerns related to the admissions process, please don't hesitate to contact us at the number provided above.

how do we work with insurance companies?
Kolob Canyon has an exclusive agreement with Bridgeway Billing. Bridgeway Billing is a separate outside entity from Kolob Canyon. By default, Kolob Canyon through Bridgeway Billing automatically checks benefits, seeks authorization, and bills a family’s insurance company unless directed not to do so by the policyholder. The exception to this is when the policy holder fails to provide us with accurate or completed insurance information it a timely manner so that proper authorizations can occur.
Working to get insurance benefits and filing claims is not an easy process. Most insurance companies want to deny the majority of claims making it difficult with some insurance companies to get insurance assistance and reimbursement. When families try to navigate this process without help and guidance they generally do not get the maximum amount of insurance coverage they can. Due to the time and expense Kolob Canyon does not provide insurance services. Instead we partner with Bridgeway Billing who has a proven track record. Kolob Canyon has found that families who work with Bridgeway Billing are more likely to receive insurance reimbursement than families who attempt to navigate the insurance process on their own.
Kolob Canyon will provide clinical documentation of care to help improve our family’s chances for reimbursement. Our treatment team will best as possible support and provide clinical documentation in an efficient amount of time as possible. Our clinicians regularly provide peer-to-peer reviews with a student's insurance company to ensure that there is a good understanding of the clinical services a student is receiving and the ongoing clinical support required. Kolob’s therapeutic program entails off-campus adventure days, multiple day trips that could impact the timeliness to respond to the request of the insurance companies for documentation and peer to peer reviews.
